A bank point is not automatically an airline mile: the card you hold, the destination program and its transfer terms matter. Compare possibilities without counting the same points twice

Each destination is an alternative use of your balance. If the calculator shows an option with one airline and another option with a second airline, that does not mean you can spend the same bank points on both. Compare the options against your actual travel dates and the cash cost of the trip.

Measure value with the cash you would actually save

Illustrative calculation: suppose a comparable flight you would buy costs $900, while an award costs 50,000 bank points after conversion plus $150 in taxes and charges. Your $750 saving divided by 50,000 points equals 1.5 cents per bank point. This is a calculation example, not an available fare. Include positioning flights, baggage and booking fees when comparing; evaluate the card’s annual fee separately.

Confirm seats before you transfer

A transfer destination is a loyalty program, not a guarantee that every flight on its airline or its partners is bookable. Check seats for every traveler, the complete points-and-cash price and the fare’s change rules. Review transfer timing and minimums with the issuer before confirming. Do not move points just because a theoretical redemption looks attractive.
